What are AutoNotifications and how do they work?
AutoNotifications allow you to be alerted to a load, which is of interest to you, without having to come to the website. You tell us what areas or locations you want us to monitor, and we will check each new available load as it is published to our website and e-mail you if we find one that falls near your specified location. This will enable you to become aware of loads without visiting our site.
Example:
J
ohn is a dispatcher for a small freight carrier. His company currently has established routes that takes several trucks a week to the following cities: Chicago IL, Denver CO, and Memphis TN. John uses the NuTruck website to discover available loads originating from Nucor plants, but he is busy and does not always have an opportunity to look at the NuTruck site every day. Since John frequently has trucks near these locations, he wants to be automatically notified if any available Nucor loads become available within 100 miles of any of these locations. To enable this, John goes to the NuTruck website and registers himself in the "AutoNotification" page using his e-mail address as his personal identifier. He also selects a password in order to secure his personal AutoNotifications. He then adds each of the cities (Chicago IL, Denver CO, and Memphis TN) to his AutoNotification list. For each city, he specifies a 100 mile radius - any new loads that fall within that circle will automatically generate an message to John. Once John receives an AutoNotification e-mail, he can review the load in detail through the website. If he is interested in carrying the load, information is provided as to how to contact the traffic department at the dispatching plant. Subsequent business arrangements on this transaction will be handled solely through the dispatching plant. Once this load is assigned to John, the published load will be retracted from the website.
How do I setup an AutoNotification?
Setting up a AutoNotification is very simple and fast. After you have registered using your e-mail address, you simply tell us what city to monitor for you. We also wish to notify you of loads that are close to your city of interest, so we ask for a radius in miles to describe your AutoNotification area. You can add, modify, or remove AutoNotifications at any time.
Other Details
AutoNotification services are provided by Nucor without cost to you. You may have a maximum of 25 active AutoNotifications. Said another way, you may input up to 25 different cities or locations to actively monitor. An AutoNotification remains active for 90 days. After 90 days, the AutoNotification becomes inactive and you must return to the site to renew them. You will be alerted, via e-mail, when a AutoNotification is about to be inactivated. Once an AutoNotification becomes inactive, no e-mails will be generated. Renewing an AutoNotification can be done very easily and quickly by visiting the AutoNotification page. If an AutoNotification is not renewed within 6 months, it is automatically deleted. Nucor respects your privacy and will not release your e-mail addresses for use by any third party company
